Forget Me Not ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Forget Me Not is designed with privacy as a priority. The vast majority of your data never leaves your device.

Data stored locally on your device:

• Names, relationships, and occasions for people you add
• Interests, budgets, notes, and city information you provide
• AI suggestion cache (stored locally after generation)
• App preferences and subscription status

Data sent to our servers when generating AI suggestions:

• Occasion type (e.g., "Birthday", "Anniversary")
• Interests and budget range
• City for local suggestions (if provided)
• Number of days until the occasion

We do not send names, personal identifiers, or relationship details to our AI service. Suggestions are cached locally for 7 days to minimize data transmission.

How We Use Your Information

• To generate personalized gift and experience suggestions
• To schedule and deliver local notifications for upcoming occasions
• To manage your subscription status via Apple's StoreKit
• To improve app functionality and user experience

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Third-Party Services

Forget Me Not uses the following third-party services:

• Anthropic Claude API — Powers AI suggestion generation. Anonymized occasion context is sent to generate suggestions. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed through their API.
• Apple StoreKit — Handles all subscription purchases. Apple's privacy policy governs payment processing.
• Apple Push Notification Service — Delivers reminder notifications to your device.

AI suggestion links direct you to third-party services (OpenTable, Viator, Etsy, Amazon, Apple Maps). Their respective privacy policies apply once you visit those platforms.

Data Storage and Security

Your personal data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate a user database or store your personal information on our servers. Data transmitted for AI suggestions is processed in transit and not retained.

Data Retention

All data is stored on your device and controlled by you. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. You can also use the "Delete all data" option in the app's You tab to clear your data without uninstalling.

Children's Privacy

Forget Me Not is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Your Rights

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You may delete your data at any time through the app or by uninstalling it. For any data transmitted to our AI service, you may contact us to request information about its handling.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
